What is your return policy?
We will accept return of items within six months of purchase provided the item is in original condition. An item can be exchanged for another item of equal value or for a Riverbend gift voucher.

You can choose between a refund, exchange or gift voucher where an item is a) faulty (i.e. misbound or illegible), b) wrongly described or c)different from what was described and where you present your original proof of purchase.

Please email Riverbend prior to returning any item that was purchased online (info@riverbendbooks.com.au ). Please note we will not pay return postage unless we made a shipping error or the item was faulty or damaged on receipt. Please feel free to contact the Riverbend manager at manager@riverbendbooks.com.au or in writing to 'Manager', Riverbend Books, 193 Oxford St, Bulimba Qld 4171 should you wish to discuss a particular refund issue.

Can I cancel an order?
If necessary, you can cancel your order provided you contact us before you receive the shipping confirmation email. Please email info@riverbendbooks.com.au or phone 07 3899 8555 and quote your order number.

Credit card security.
The Riverbend Books site uses the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol standard to protect your personal information from interception by unauthorised parties as it travels from your computer to our server. Look for the 'https' at the beginning of your browser's address bar and the Comodo icon (shown right) at the bottom right of secured pages.

To provide the best possible security all credit card payments made online are handled on our behalf through the secure servers of eWay. eWay has multiple firewalls to protect important data and utilises 1024 bit data encryption.

Should you prefer to pay by other means please contact Riverbend, or visit us in person.

What is the range of books on the website?
The website does not list all of the thousands of books which we have on our shelves. The items on the website are some of the very special books, CDs and DVDs that we want to highlight. If you can't find a the book you are chasing please give us a call, or complete our online book enquiry form.

Are all the items on the website currently in stock at Riverbend?
Not necessarily. 

While we do our best to keep all the items listed on the website  in stock, some items may need to be ordered for you from the supplier.  In this situation we will notify you by email, advise on an expected arrival date and ask if you wish to proceed with the order.  

We will not charge your credit card until items are dispatched.

What if an item I order is not in stock at Riverbend?
We will email you to advise you if an item is not in stock and advise an expected arrival date. You can then decide if you wish to wait for the item to be ordered from the supplier, or if you would prefer to cancel the order. We will not charge your credit card until the items are dispatched.

What if some items I order are in stock and others aren't?
We will ship those items that are in stock and will advise you by email about the expected arrival of any out of stock items. You can then decide if you wish to wait for the out of stock item to be ordered from the supplier, or if you would prefer to cancel the out of stock items.

If you have chosen to have your order shipped, we will only charge shipping for the first parcel (and will not charge for shipping of the backordered items).

Prices on the website.
While we make every effort to ensure that the prices on the website are accurate, occasionally circumstances may vary beyond our control and we reserve the right to vary the website prices.  In these circumstances we will contact you and you can decide if you wish the order to procede.

All prices are quoted on the website are in Australian dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of the domestic Australian GST (Goods and Services Tax). The GST is currently set at 10%.

Prices on the website may not necessarily match prices in the bookshop.

When will I receive my order?
Australian customers should should receive items which are currently in stock at Riverbend within 3-5 days by regular Australia Post delivery. 

If you chose courier delivery (available in serviced South-East Queensland areas) your order should arrive within 1-2 days after dispatch from Riverbend.

Can I order from outside of Australia?
While we are happy to send books outside Australia our website is currently not able to accept overseas orders.

Please contact info@riverbendbooks.com.au and we will be happy to discuss overseas delivery.

How can I pay for my order?
You can pay on the website by Visa, MasterCard or BankCard. Please contact us if you would prefer to pay be American Express, a cheque or with a Riverbend gift voucher.

When is my credit card charged?
Your credit card is charged when your items are dispatched. For event bookings your credit card will be charged on the day that you book.

Do you send tickets for events booked online?
No. When you book online we send you an email confirming your booking. You should print this email and bring it with you to the event.

Can I buy a Riverbend gift voucher through the website?
Certainly! Gift vouchers can be purchased to any value and can be used at both the Bookshop and Teahouse. Please note, Riverbend Gift vouchers can not currently be used to purchase items through the website.
