Wednesday September 5

Indigenous Literacy Day is a national event to raise both funds and awareness of the crisis for Indigenous literacy.

On Wednesday you can support the literacy work of The Fred Hollows Foundation in remote Indigenous communities.  Simply buy a book at Riverbend and 10% of your purchase price will be donated to Indigenous Literacy Day.  If you'd prefer to make a cash donation we have collection boxes on the Bookshop counter and if you wish to make a larger donation please visit our website Indigenous Literacy Day for details.

To celebrate Indigenous Literacy Day we'll be holding lucky prize draws each hour, starting at 8.30am on Wednesday (the last draw being at 9.30pm).  Everyone who purchases a book or makes a donation in the hour of the draw will have a chance to win some lovely books.  You just need to be in the store when your hour's prize is drawn.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the 2006 Australian Readers' Challenge.
