Established in 1998 in bustling Bulimba we provide a relaxed and stimulating blend of books, food and coffee. 

Our bookshop staff is a team of serious book lovers dedicated to matching you with that perfect book whether it's for you or a gift. And if it's not on our shelves (and it's in print) we're happy to order it for you. We can source practically any title from Australia, the US or Britain. Bookchats and author events are significant part of the Riverbend calendar.  Our events are a great opportunity to meet the people who create the books we love and to mingle with the community of book lovers.  We host our events at Riverbend and a range of venues around Brisbane.  Everyone is invited to join our email list to receive invitations to our events.

Taking an active role in our local and wider community is important to us.  We are the founding book shop of The Indigenous Literacy Project (ILP) now in its fifth year, a national initiative to help address the current crisis in remote Indigenous literarcy. You can read more about ILP here.

We have been awarded Queensland Independent Bookshop of the Year in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008.
