Riverbend is one of Brisbane's best independent bookshops. 

Established in 1998 in bustling Bulimba we provide a relaxed and stimulating blend of books, food and coffee. 

Our bookshop team are serious book lovers dedicated to matching you with that perfect book whether it's for you or a gift. Bookchats and author events are significant part of the Riverbend calendar.  Our events are an opportunity to meet the people who create the books we love and to mingle with the community of book lovers.  We host events at Riverbend and at venues around Brisbane.  If you'd like to keep informed about our events, please join our email list.

Taking an active role in our local and wider community is important to us.  We are the founding bookshop of The Indigenous Literacy Project (ILP) now in its seventh year, a national initiative to help address the current crisis in remote Indigenous literarcy. .

We have been awarded Queensland Independent Bookshop of the Year in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009.

In 2006 and 2007 we were delighted to be awarded Australian Independent Bookshop of Year.
