If you would like to become a Riverbend Foodie; if you have a serious love of good hearty honest food made from wonderful fresh ingredients; if you would like to know more about the art and elements of cooking read on…
Inspired by the Julia Child cookbook, ‘Mastering the Art of French Cooking’ and the ‘Julie & Julia’ movie local foodie Jane Hankey has partnered with Suzy Wilson to launch a locally inspired series of food events. Every month Riverbend will work with a talented local foodie under the guidance of Jane Hankey to create one special dish.
Jane Hankey began her career as a microbiologist. A mother of four she has always had a deep love of food and cooking inspired by her mother and father whom were brilliant cooks. She has lived in Hawthorne for over twenty years and abandoned micro-science for food-science many years ago. The first book Jane cooked from as an adult was ‘Mastering the Art of French Cooking’.
Each month Riverbend will host a dinner on the deck to launch the new dish. For the following month that dish will be available as the special on the Riverbend evening menu. It will also be available for takeaway.
