About Persepolis

Adapted from her acclaimed graphic novels, Marjane Satrapis Persepolis (co-directed with Vincent Paronnaud) is a humorous coming-of-age tale of a young girl growing up during Iran's turbulent Islamic Revolution. Rendered in stark black-and-white animation and featuring the vocal talents of the Gallic film icon Catherine Deneuve, this witty and moving film was a smash-hit at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
