The Secret Life of Daisy Fitzjohn

But when one day her mother doesn't come home and a strange man arrives at the house, Daisy must use her wits to survive. This enthralling story of a young girl's physical and mental journey is beautifully imagined by Tania Unsworth, and readers will be completely transported by the unique magic of Daisy's world.
A proper page-turning thriller ... It starts off like a children's book. Daisy lives a sheltered life with her backstoried mum, and likes to talk to topiary. Quickly, though, the fanciful plot develops a sub-zero chill. Daisy's mum disappears. A stranger appears. Your blood runs cold when he works out that no one knows of Daisy's existence. There ensues an almighty battle of wits; it won't spoil the ending to note that the climax is violent, but satisfying.
